A Shorty From Shuff’s

This is a plain old “tanker” model Garand by Shuff’s. I got the idea when I was at the Show of Shows. It runs great. Original caliber. The hand guards were done by Rick B. The shorter length and reduced weight make it a pleasure to carry or use in a box blind. HRA barrel, SA receiver.

What was the turn around time on the conversion? Close to the advertised 90 days?

It’s my understanding that Shuff’s is operating at his usual pace. They are an “essential “ business. I had this converted three years ago. I think the actual turn around was more like 30 days, maybe 14 days.

I have a Garand. I owned mine for awhile and I want to have schuffs do his work to it but I have a hard time with modifying or selling my Garand.

I have a very similar rifle at Shuff’s right now, also a 30.06. He is making a new op rod for mine, which separated mid-tube... I also love the reduced size & weight of the Tanker, plus mine is a tack driver!

Easy solution; get another one, or have Tim build one.

He’s been working on my BM62. 90 days is accurate. I’m glad he has a backlog. Good Sign. If you want craftsmanship things take time.

He parked my M14 parts last year and he was just about on the nose to his advertised 90 day turnaround. His work is absolutely worth the wait.

Thanks from Douglas Haig
