Welcome from Brazil!
Had a VW Bettle too, a blue 69 with white seats and a 1.7cc motor, with double carburetor, hot can and front disc brakes.

Had the pleasure of being stationed at Vliegbasis Soesterberg 1986-89. Rented a small house from an apple farmer in 't Goy near Houten. Regularly shot handguns with a civilian shooting club on an army installation - Austerlitz if memory serves...

@Mongo, Soesterberg has an impressive military museum on base. I have visited it together with HighHat.

Welcome from west Michigan. My ancestors came from the Netherlands. Grampa Vanloon was in the Dutch army in WW1. Other side was Herrygers.

That could be the shooting club i'm a member of, Griffioen. They used to shoot outside close to Austerlitz on a army shooting range (leuserheide). Now it's all indoor.

@ Big Bang: Evidently, the RNLAF shut down operations at Soesterberg and the museum followed. Must have been after ~ 2004 when we went to the base while visiting the NL and the gate guards had no interest in letting us on the base.

@ Rookie M14: I don't recall the name of the club I joined but Griffioen doesn't sound familiar. Quite likely the same range location though. We shot outside under a cover.

Mongo, it was 2016 and they had a NIKE Herc on display. Haven't seen "my" bird since 40 years.
