UDT-SEALs museum

Wife and I are heading down to Vero Beach, Fl in a few weeks. The museum is a couple miles south of Vero in Ft. Pierce so we're going to check it out. Looking forward to it.
Has anybody been?

I've not been, hope to some day. Can you do me a big favor please? I know they have at least one example of the Ithaca M37 shotty with the duckbill shot spreader used by SEALs in Nam. Maybe more then one. Can you get some pics and postum here please?

I'm hoping they have the version that has a ring around the duck bills to prevent the bills from spreading apart. I have one here but it's missing the ring and hope to maybe be able to "scale" out the correct size from pics. TIA

Went to the museum as planned. A great place to visit if you haven't been. It's not very large but it packed with cool stuff like their insertion vessels, PBR, STAB, SDV.... and a great assortment of other gear and weapons used by the Teams. as it happens that day they had a exhibition of SEAL dogs. Had 5 or 6 Team Belgians, a movie about the dogs and afterwards a Q&A. When that was done we all went out to the obstacle course where they put them through the paces. Very cool. If you're in central east Florida it's worth a drive.

The next day we drove an hour or so north to the Kennedy Space Center. Our first time there and it was a very good day also but that's another story.

After the photbucket debacle a couple years ago I gave up on picture hosting. I did take some relevant pics on my phone for M1Sniper here on this site but sent them email to him but not going to get back into hosting.

Thanks, I heard that. After being held hostage by that other POS site I was fed up. I also got to thinking that I really don't like the fact that a company has access to many of my personal photos and can do whatever they want with them for any reason they choose no matter what they say they do to protect data, theyre all liars. In this age of American democracy divisiveness I'm even more so hesitant.

if you come down from the north on us1,turn east on north causey on north side of inlet.
if your taking I-95 south, get off at orange ave( nice flying j truck stop on west side. good food) head east to us1,turn north. lock doors, move swiftly.

nice museum. Lots of training went on in the area during the war. Interesting fact, Sebastian Inlet just to the north had been dug open and then washed shut several times in the years leading up to WWII.
But when the war ended, the Navy was nice enough to leave behind a lot of explosives which the locals then used to blast the inlet deep enough to make it stay open, though it does need to get the channel dredged periodically.
