James River Receivers

I have 2 rifles built on James River receivers, and am working on #3. I just went to their web site to see what's going on and I came across this. "We continued with our manufacturing in 2014 and produced the M21 DMR (M14 with a Scope Rail) which we unveiled at the Shot Show in Las Vegas. In addition to the M21 we took the M14 rifle a step further and made the M14C (Cast) receiver/rifle."

I always thought that Bula forged all their M14 receivers. I know they build their BM59's on cast but the m14? Thanks.

I believe James River used LRB, 7.62mm and Bula receivers at different times. You might ask where they are getting their cast receivers. Maybe they made a deal with someone like Fulton. Very interesting and would be nice to know.

Well , if Bula is not supplying them any more , they will need to get them from some place, if they want to continue to produce Rifles .

That page is from 2014 so I'm talking about older receivers, of which I have one. I know James River planned on making forged BM59 receiver-I assume through Bula-but I am curious if the cast M14 ever made it off the drawing board.

I think the cast BM-59 receiver were from Spain. They had a problem and Jeff at Bula helped them out with a few forged ones along with barrels.

James River doesn't have M14s for over a year and Gallants for the last 6 months.

Thanks from nf1e

Wish i could have gotten a Bula BM-59 receivered rifle. Dare i say i enjoyed the BM59 more than the M14. Handier rifle, softer smoother recoil. Nice bolt release. Ect.
But stay away from the cast receiver JRA Bm59.

Thanks from semperfi1968
