fits the m1a1 but seems to need the rear sight knob to be taken off to have a great fit , did not want to take knob off tonight . anyway it seems to have a rail to fit a scope like the colt 3x20 or 4x20 but it is offset to the left .
no markings or stampings of maker , nothing !
okay take a look and see who can/might have info on this.

Without looking closely, it appears to the mount for the A/N PVS2

That's not a AN/PVS-2 mount.

AN/PVS-2 mount pics

As stated it is an adapter to mount M16 style optics on an M14. Who made it? I have no idea.

It's an AN/PVS-4 Scope Mount.

Both the U.S. and the Israelis made them, but the US version is a centerline mount.

Question Springfield Armory Gen 4 mount

Hello
This is my first post here, I just put a M1A (used) on layaway. I paid 1k for it thinking it was a Loaded. After I got up with SA customer service I was informed it is a NM build date 02.
Question, I'm looking a maximizing my capabilities with my eyes and iron sights before I move to possibly dropping a scope on it.
SO is there anything I need to be concerned about putting on a SA Gen 4 scope mount. Go move or something else?
Thing to consider will be me range will be 350 yds for now.

Cheers
Ron

Most will recommend & choose the Sadlak mount , I have the SAI Gen 4 Aluminum mount on my SOCOM with out any issues.

Bassett mounts are also a good option, especially if you want to remove and install the scope repeatedly. The Basset will return to near zero quite well, when re-installed.

I believe the Sadlak is the better choice over the SAI Gen#4. I have both and the Sadlak takes the cake.
If you are looking for a mount that is easy to install and easy to remove, the Bassett would be the way to go.

Agreed, Sadlak makes the best mounts. However, the new SAI Gen 4 is not a bad choice. It's a thousand percent better than the older SAI mounts simply because it's another Brookfield knock off. It also has an open rail design that helps eliminate brass jams. They are available in both aluminum and steel and I'd recommend the steel version.

I have SA gen4 mounts on my loaded and Socom. One is steel the other is aluminum, I can only say I am happy with what I have but it did take SA 4 attempts to get it right

Thanks from nf1e

I have a problem / question. I put a scope mount on my Polytech and in doing so I striped the threads by tightening the screw knob too tight.
Any suggestions.

fulton armory has the mounting bolts, make sure you run a bore brush and some alcohol on the receiver threads before installing the new one. I have done this twice and ordered 4 last time just to have in the event it happens again. The mounting bolts are sacrificial as to not do damage to the receiver. The bolts if I recall were $18.99 a piece.
