USCG in VN

Phil,

I still remember running with the Rush on the gun line in Vietnam. An all white DD with Coast guard "swoosh" on the hull.

Wes, It wasn't a DD, it was a WHEC (High Endurance Cutter) - specifically USCGC Rush (WHEC-723).

Bet there aren't too many that knew the CG served in Iraq too. Goofy character standing over the deer is my eldest son.

My brother went in the coast guard to try to control where he went/did. Shot 2 times in New York Harbor, never even got a cold in Viet Nam.

My cousin's son went in to be a Rescue Swimmer and he made it. Then decided since he was going to be a career man became a Pilot for Rescue Swimmers. Have never met him,BUT incredibly proud of him. Even though his English Grandmother thinks he is a disgrace
