He was at the Oaks gun show last month. He's been complaining about his health (and his wife) for awhile now. He's running low on M14 stuff, but still had a lot for other USGI firearms.

The next Oak show is in a few weeks. I just sent him an email.

Thanks from luigi, Different, luigi and 15 others

That's too bad
Uncle Bill used to roll out to the Monroeville Show about 20 years ago

Last time I saw him at the Oaks show I spent 20 minutes at his table

His knowledge of US contractors and dates just astounds me

Bill is sick, is selling out his operation.
Known him quite well for over 30 years, today he does not know who I am.
When I say known, I don't mean just gun shows and phone calls.
I have been to his home many times in the past.
Is a really great guy, sad.

I don't know him or his age or issues, but it sounds very much like dementia, perhaps Alzheimer's. My dad suffered that for 5 years before he passed away. Its tough to watch.

I spoke to a friend today who said Bill was set up at the last Gettysburg show. I believe Bill is in his early 70's. Sad to hear of his health problems.

I had noticed the same, but I was hesitant to say anything until I better understood what was happening to him. I've known him 35 or 40 years and the last time I called to speak with him he did not know me.

I asked Bill if he will be at the Oaks show in February. I just received this response...

Quote:
I will not be there. I will be there in March.
The March show is a 3 day event. March 22-24.

That is very sad to hear, my mom is slowly loosing this battle. She is very forgetful, asking the same questions over and over again.

There are any number of faculties I could live without save one...my mind.

Good Luck Bill Ricca, thanks for all the help you've given me over the years!

Bill is most likely gonna be at the Allentown show Feb 9-10. He's one of the directors of the Forks Historical Arms Society ,who runs this show.

He's lost a lot of weight , but he's affable as ever.

Thanks from RDS

I have several of Bill's pages archived. I don't know if this is an infringement posting them. If it is will the mod please take it down. If not I can post more. I don't want to see a server problem wipe out years of Bill's hard work.
