Great post ,thanks. We all view what we did/what was done to us in a different light. The old admonition"head on a swivel, watch your six" also includes the time spent where ever you are. Doug

Evil

War is an Ugly, Evil, thing. The foot Soldier always looses something. No matter which side He is on. Good words Gunny, dont change them.

Thanks gunny, I think anyone who's been in combat has spent at least a few sleepless nights. I have always been very proud of my military service, but I do understand your thoughts.

I salute all those who have seen the "elephant". I came of age between the conflicts and felt no need to serve ( much to my shame ). I cannot feel what you have felt, but I honor you who have served.

It took me more than a year after returning from vietnam/laos to be able to sleep. The sweats, the dreams and the tears.

We've all been through it, and if we're not careful, we may sometime be back in it again.

Gunny, you hit it right. Just remember, you have lots of company out there so don't ever feel alone.

Thanks from dwight55

There were folks who actually put forth that young man was a bad example.

He was smoking....

Thank you.
The only time I feel alone is when I am around those that can not understand what it is to pay the price of freedom.

I have been asked to post other things I have scratched on paper, but finding all the scraps of paper, tucked away, does take time.
I did find one that I called "The Price". But I feel that it is too dark to post.

Semper Fi to all my brothers that have paid the price of freedom.

There are many ugly things I see see when I close my eyes. Fortunately for me, only one particular night between CP 58-59 on MSR Tampa bothers me on a regular basis. War is an ugly thing. Evil? I don't know, but it is ugly...
