He was double clutching and riding the bolt forward a couple of times too.

He may have felt like he had to due to a lack of lube.

Some units are designated as light infantry but their doctrine, training, operations, and equipment is anything but.

The issued mags S*CK! After I went to Iraq in '03, I began bringing my own mags. In Afghanistan in '06-07 I carried HK mags and when I went back to Afghanistan in '09-10 I carried P Mags. I'll never carry those issued aluminum mags again!

Even though the ACH is lighter than the helmets that came before it, the ACH is still uncomfortable, hot, and makes aimed shots difficult. Well, for me at least. Ever helmet I've ever worn, I've had a difficult time taking aimed shots especially in the prone. The body armor neck piece pushes the helmet down on my nose. Maybe it's just me, but it sucks. I hate wearing that helmet and would wear a boonie ever dang chance I got! It's lighter and lets more heat out than the ACH. Between the body armor and the helmet, it's like being in a sauna! The body armor pushes your body heat toward your face and the helmet keeps it from escaping. Forget that, wear the boonie!

My last unit was "Light" and you guys are right, it's anything but! I had the light ruck in my squad and it was at least 90+lbs. My 240 gunner weighed over 400lbs with all his gear! I had the "Heavy Weapons Squad" and that was an understatement!

Just my $.02
