They look like Chinese CZ M4 carbines 5.56X45. 900 rds per min or QBZ type 87's. The Chinese can make anything nowdays.

four minutes;

I only watched a little of four minutes of the movie, but saw several different types of rifles. Vietnam maybe an Ally one day. They are in a tiff with China over the South China Sea. The ancient history between China and Tonkin has been rife with dispute and distrust. Didn't we just help them acquire a destroyer from Russia? I think the Philippines is purchasing older U.S. destroyers.

("Authorities in Manila and Hanoi have repeatedly accused Chinese vessels this year of interfering with their oil and gas explorations and harassing fishermen within their 200 nautical mile exclusive economic zones.

Beijing has named the South China Sea one of its "core interests," meaning it could potentially go to war to protect it. Last week, it launched its sea tests of its first aircraft carrier, a refurbished former Soviet vessel.")

Well we left tons of stuff over there including lots of M16's, I have seen several M14's on this forum that were sold in NZ and Europe that came from Viet Nam. By the way didn't you guys get the memo, they are our friends now, Blackhawk and Nike are two companies of I am sure many that have stuff made in VN. Also they are our best bet to keep China in check once we are no longer a superpower (tomorrow?).

Well, visually at least, they've come a long way from black pajamas and rubber tire sandals. How many freak'n uniforms have they got? Especially liked the guys in the white shirts and blue caps and overalls. The infamous Mario Brothers Brigade.
Kinda disturbed at the rifles marked "US Gov't Property". They looked in great shape for some 40 year old left overs.

Thanks from Butzbach

Those guns were not used in the vietnam war, they are new guns that we probably sold to them...or gave them.

Back in the late 70's early 80's, China and Vietnam were at each others throats. I remember reading about us giving them military material in the 90's once the USSR collapsed and RINO McCain thought that it would be a good idea to get close to them. In this day and age, it wouldn't hurt.

Lightbulb History; Vietnam and China,

History is what it is and we can't change it, unless you are progressive I suppose, but Vietnam could have been quite different if the French had not opposed their independence. Anyone who has studied Vietnam would have read books written by Bernard Fall. Vietnam had a long and troubled history with China. Fall somewhat explains all of South East Asia and their divisions.

Fall covered the Vietnam wars from the end of WWII and Vietnam history from European first involvement. The Dutch first tried and left immediately, then the French interred the picture in the early 1800's. The Marines first landed in Tonkin, (Vietnam) in 1848 to rescue a Jesuit Priest from a War Lord. Shortly there after an apology was made to Tonkin from the U.S. Foreign Secretary and the Admiral chastised for interfering. Go figure.

I've read four of Fall's books on Vietnam. One was compiled by his wife from Fall's dispatches. Fall was killed by a landmine in Vietnam in 1967, following and reporting on U.S. troops.

There is also a novel by P.C. Wren about early Vietnam, entitled "The Fort in the Jungle" that brings to light some Vietnamese history. P.C. Wren is the author of "Beau Geste" and other stories of the Forgien Legion.

Thanks from CAVman and Butzbach

Awards Showcase

Very odd watching that...Sure different from the 1960's!

They Do Love Their Pagentry! I guess after all it Was...French Indo-China!

If the Video wasn't as good...one might think it was CHINA, not NVN!

Clearly North Vietnam is sending a message TO China... DON'T!

BTW...Is there any actual 'tactical' value in the BLUE Camo Uniforms?

I would guess it is either their naval special forces or just plain regular sailors?

Re-Viewed the video and read the comments. One said (concerning the M16/M4) rifles "These stuff were bought from Israel"

I wonder how true that is.

As far as Vietnam, locking a$$holes with China, let them go at it. Once they get fully knotted up, carefully placed nukes can turn the whole bunch into radioactive ash.
