The guys in the blue coveralls armed with AKs looking like a squad of VC Super-Mario's was interesting.

I'll bet that Colt gets nothing for being ripped off. Same went for Israel when they stopped paying royalties for copying the M16 there too.

The Colt M-16's may have been battle field pick ups or rifles that we'd given to Marvin the ARVN during the war.

If i recall around 1 million M16s of various configs were in the hands of South Vietnam at end of war. Over 60 thousand M60s were lost. Im sure most were in like new condition....I had it but I cant find the info to back this up. It is what i recall reading.

Looks like the North Koreans, then again I would not be able to tell the difference. One thing I can say is don't doubt their fighting ability and, their will to succeed. I'm sure some members here will chime in to that fact. Been there, done that.

Are there any good books on their training? I found one that had a few chapters on it and I'm itching to find more.

If they got any from us, I highly doubt they were paid for.

Since when does our genius government actually sell stuff anymore?

Back in the late 70's early 80's, China and Vietnam were at each others throats. I remember reading about us giving them military material in the 90's once the USSR collapsed and RINO McCain thought that it would be a good idea to get close to them. In this day and age, it wouldn't hurt.
it would not surprise me if the whole conflict was staged just to get some free goodies from our country. freakin' commies...

Here is one thought.

It looks like the regular army troops are carrying AK 47's.

The Police and home guard troops are carrying the SKS rifles.

The SPECOP troops are carrying M16's with suppressors.

Many are marked COLT US MILITARY.
Either they copied our reciever markings, or the rifles were "gifted" to Vietnam, reciently as part of some sort of US aid package, as those AR's are not Vietnam war issue...

Here is a second thought, I have never seen that many suppressed M 16's as a "general issue item" since some stuff I have done with the SEALS...

Here's some close-up pics I captured from the video.

This one says AR-15 on the receiver.

This one says made in China, with the serial number X'd out. Look at the selector on this POS. It looks raggidy a$$ed. If it was made in China for military use, why is "Made in China" printed in english.

I call BS on all the M16 rifles in this video. It looks like it was all staged with airsoft rifles.

This could be just a slap in the face the US; "We beat you and got your rifle to prove it". The overalls for uniforms is from Orwell's book "1984" were the party members all had to wear them because they were the workers. 1984 became a textbook for commie nations; reverse psychology, overalls, TV or radios that you can't turn off that blare state propaganda. The proles (think the sports section).

Scary. Boycott china, Vietnam and any other commie nation. They will kill us if they have a chance. "A capitalist will sell you the rope to hang them with" -Lenin.

The only reason they haven't is "behind ever blade of grass is an American with a gun".

I find it hard to believe Vietnam would be much more than a pothole in the road to China.

Besides the size of their military there is a technology difference and a policy difference.

Anyone here think the Chinese would worry about no fire zones, civilian casualties, infrastructure damage, etc? The less Vietnamese that are left when it is over just makes more room to relieve population pressure at home by voluntary or forced emigration to occupy the newly "liberated" territory.

Do you think Nike, etc. care whether the folks that work in their overseas factories are Vietnamese or Chinese?

Kind of interesting.... here is a list of infantry weapons used by the Vietnamese. Notice that most of the U.S. weapons are decommissioned due to lack of ammo. They probably use American models as parade models. If you fight the Vietnamese, you (China) will be facing Russian bullets.
