What are u wanting to pay? Prices are all over depending on what it is you are looking for. Check FAL files. Always something for sale

Check Fal Files for sales ,there are thousands of types and variations of FAL's /L1A1's and "FrankenFAL's".
while your at the FF a word of advice to you, Do Not refer to the FAL on the files as a "platform" .

I'd stay away from gunbroker [et all] mixmasters until you have learned the rifle well ,
there's just too many homebuilt trainwrecks out there .

I'd stick with the metrics , they built a LOT more of them, there's a lot more parts & support .
Do your research [a LOT] , then verify what you've learned with some of the guys here , THEN spend your $$.

Something like a Springfield SAR48/SAR4800 would be perfect for a newcomer to FAL's.
They're a Springfield Armory rebadged Brazilian Imbel FAL rifle built from the late 80's until 1997 .
Imbel was a licensed manufacturer of Fabrique National FAL's.
Imbel receivers are currently considered the holy grail among FAL builders
The SAR's are solid , well built , dependable factory built & highly unlikely to have many rds down the barrel.

Thanks from RDS, speerchucker and wags2161

SAR48/SAR4800's

They came in traditional metric dress, as a folding paratrooper and an Israeli HB rifle.

ray55classic is correct the SAR 48/4800 is about the best bang for the buck then and now.
Gunbroker--636832760--Unfired SAR 4800 bush with 14 new Belgian mags.
SAR 48 and 4800 have become harder to find the last few years. The bush models were and are even harder to find. That big round block where the flash hider should be is easy to remove and the barrel has normal threads under it, DSA sells the correct flash suppressor and the paint even matches.

Anything built by Mark Graham - Arizona Response Systems - will be good to go.

The earlier DSA weapons built with Auatrian parts are very desirable. For me, I avoid garage and basement builders.
