Happy Birthday CMOH

I was monitoring the (Enemy Net, NPR) this morning on the way into work. They had a little piece on the CMOH. 150 years ago today President Abraham Lincoln approved the Congressional action to provide for 200 Navy Medals of Honor. NPR had a interview with one HERSHEL W. WILLIAMS, USMC, one of only 85 living recipients. Here below is a link to his MOH citation.

I love to surf the official CMOH website and read the citations of the recipients. Good men, to be sure... Who we all owe tons and tons of gratitude to and many, many thanks for their brave actions.

I grew up as a military brat and the commercials on TV showed many of these citations. It's a shame they don't do that stateside. I tip my hat to those recipients, and all of the men who should have earned it but didn't.

A side note to anyone who doesn't know, the real name is the Medal of Honor, not the Congressional Medal of Honor. It's mistakenly called that even by the media and government because they don't know any better.

Thanks from IC2(SS)19Z50C5
