That's great! Good for her!

One thing I don't understand though, is why does it take so long to recognize someone for a heroic action? I can understand 6 months or a year, but 4 years ago?

Either way, it's good to see that she's getting an award, definatley seems like she deserves it!

I just hope it's not a political tool.

There have been hundreds, if not thousands, of medics throughout all the wars we've been in that deserve recognition. It makes me heart sick to think they have gone without some sort of reward. Thousands of wounded combat troops would not have come home without the aide of a medic.

Sharp Hand Salute to all medics, of all branches of the service.

The combat medic, someone you hope to never have to see, but oh so glad that he, or she, is there when you need them. Congratulations, young lady.

She sounds like a squared-away troop; well trained, also. Good for her, is all I have to say.

And all that BS about females not being assigned to Combat Arms units; take a look at their Forward Support Companies sometimes. They're attached for all purposes, to include rations, quarters and UCMJ. They have many, many females in them, and that ain't just in the sandbox.
