| Poem My Daughter Wrote
This is a poem my daughter wrote in 5 minutes earlier tonight, sometimes she really amazes me. The poem is for a card she made to send to wounded war vets at Bethesda, its something her language arts teacher does every year. It maid me feel good to know some of our teachers still teach the kids that our soldiers are our real heroes.
Soldiers Night Before Christmas
By
Keegan age 11
Twas the Night Before Christmas
and all over the world
American Soldiers Stood Strongly
Protecting America's boys and girls
While standing their watch, what did they see?
Santa driving his sleigh through the night
Rudolph with his red nose
Leading Santa's Team on their long flight
This time to their delight his sleigh
was lit up red, white and blue
Santa waved to the soldiers he saw
The soldiers smiled and returned his salute
The soldiers were reminded
of all the children they stood watch for
they were hopeful
that the children got all they dreamed of and more
As Santa disappeared from sight
He Shouted
Merry Christmas to all
And to the soldiers keep up the fight
