I know one of the Sgts at the Tomb from selling him a rifle. When we were in DC we checked with one of the Guards who was giving some directions to guests at outside of the viewing area, and told him we knew the Sgt(he was off duty that day) and he made a phone call and asked us to come into the barracks area under the tombs where the Guards prepare for watches.
It was really amazing, we got to watch an inspection by the watch Sgt for the guard getting ready to relieve the on duty guard. I got to handle and check out one of the M14s, and they showed us around a bit with photos of all the interments and things like that. It was an awe inspiring experience, that my kids(both under 10 at the time and both girls) still talk about. I am trying to raise mine to respect and honor the sacrifices so many have made, so we can live free and enjoy the freedoms they fought for. If mine ever disrespected the tomb and the men in it, the guard would not be the one decking them.
