just curious how long you have to wait after seeing the doc for a C&P check up/physical before you hear anything from the VA?
For me it wasn't long. From the time the doc checked till I heard yeah or nah. I think it was just under 90 day for the one I got. The one they denied was quicker seems to me.
There is no standard or average time frame. Some VA offices will keep you updated with a letter every 30 or 60 days and others wont contact you until the next step needs to be taken. If your claim is simple and well documented within your service medical records, and it is obvious that your claim meets the legal standards then you will probably hear something within 90 days or so. If your claim is complex and needs a lot of outside verification it can take years.
Gents, you may consider having the Disabled American Veterans represent your cases. These guys do a terrific job filing and tracking claims. They will take care of you. I speak from personal experience.
"National Service Officers (NSO) function as attorneys-in-fact, assisting veterans and their families in filing claims for VA disability compensation and pension; vocational rehabilitation and employment; education; home loan guaranty; life insurance; death benefits; health care and much more. They provide free services, such as information seminars, counseling and community outreach. NSOs also represent veterans and active duty military personnel before Discharge Review Boards, Boards for Correction of Military Records, Physical Evaluation Boards and other official panels."
