In a moral bind

Great day at range this morning.....good time.....evening went sour in conversation about what to expect from things.

bottom line. Afraid of the VA due to past.....but need to seriously consider something.

I don't want a hand out....just a plan to keep working and not a lot of questions if that makes sense.

From a fellow AMMO troop, don't let pride get in the way of earned benefits. It was hard for me to accept that not only I was medically retired after over 17 years (I wasn't allowed to finish my 20...that hurt more than anything) but I also started to collect Social Security at only 36 years old. I was recently (re)married and with a young baby and it really bothered me that I couldn't provide for my family in the traditional sense of me getting a job or 2, instead my wife had to quit her job to take care of me AND we had to make due with only my disability. The last thing I wanted was a handout but I had to do what I had to do. Think about what you and yours really need without letting emotion clouding your judgement and then you'll be able to make the right decision. Good luck.

Don't know where in this wacky country you are but do know that the VA's differ greatly in their quality depending on where you are. The one here in Sioux Falls has been very good to me and provided what I needed when I needed it. It also depends a lot on who you get as a Primary Care Physcian, some are very good and some-not so good. You rate very good care so go ahead and check them out. If you don't get, ask for a different PCP until you get one who will work with you-it's your right. Will add you to our prayers and hope things work out for you. Hang in there. Life is much better on the other side.

What ever it is we are all 100% behind you.

Not knowing what is going on I will only say if you earned it and they want to give it than take it.

Your post is cryptic but good luck on your course of action.
