The people are fantastic, and I've had 3 primary care providers all of whom were great. I have no problem getting to see specialists, and the care from them is also top notch, and always with a smile. I am truly thankful for the VA. I can't believe I am alone!
I think it varies greatly from area to area.
My dad always got good care from the Maywood , Illinois facility but that is next to Loyola hospital and many of his doctors worked both facilities.

I have received very good care at the Indianapolis VA Hospital. This included two thyroid surgeries and they also outsourced, to a hospital of my choice and at no cost to me, a heart surgery that the VA surgeon thought was too complicated to be done at the VA.

Many of the specialty doctors are on two year fellowships and they come over from the Indiana University School of Medicine several times each week to work at the VA. I was hospitalized for 4 weeks and most of my various specialist even those not providing treatment stopped in each week. The department head or the specialist providing treatment stopped in every day including the weekends.

This country needs nothing as much as a massive purge of the excrement we we now have leading our government, from BOTH parties..... and.....the sooner, the BETTER! There is treason and incompetence enough to keep the hangman busy for MONTHS.

45 % of members leaving the military apply for disability 30% are approved. Source Boston Globe. Available with a Google search. The last two female admin assistants in my office were both on paid disability for foot issues suffered because of running in combat boots. There was nothing wrong with either of them that was evident in the workplace. My boss a GS14 making about $125,000 a year was receiving disability for an injury playing football for Navy. There is potential for scamming the system which increases cost and availability of VA services.

Heck before retirement the last two female admin assistants in my office were both on paid disability for foot issues suffered because of running in combat boots. There was nothing wrong with either of them that I could see. My boss a GS14 making about $125,000 a year was receiving disability for an injury playing football for Navy. There is so much scamming going on it's no wonder the VA is broke.
Where did you get the 45% number? Reference please. Are you a doctor, as you can diagnose people on sight?
