Disposal of Servicemen's Remains

There is a report in FOX NEWS this morning that the USAF mortuary at Dover, DE has dumped the remains of 274 US servicemen into a Virginia landfill. It's brief, but it appears that the families of these men had asked that their remains be disposed of in a dignified manner. I have little doubt that more on the topic will be revealed as it emerges. I'm still too disgusted to believe what I read.

I saw that too. I suspect that the individuals in charge were allowed to retire with full benefits, per the usual response to f-ups.

I saw that. It mentioned a number like 6300+ since 2001. Wonder what that number comprises?

Lets you know where you stand in the goverments eyes. When I was at AIT at Fort Sam for veterinary techs we were "disposing" of working dogs that were gulf war veterans. The dogs had reached the ripe old age of 10 and were deamed no longer able to perform their duties. We were tasked with doing a full disection of the dogs, sending tissues on to some research facility, and then bagging the dog up and throwing what was left away. At that time there were no provisions in place to adopt a military working dog, all of the goverments dogs ended their lives this way. It was very sad, I know that they were dogs but in my eyes they were soldiers who had fought for thier country. I didnt think that this was a very fitting end for them, but as a result of those experiences I am really not surpised by this.

Dogs or not, some of our k-9 partners were more dependable than some I served with.

That is a fact. This country has very little if any honor left.

When the time comes there won't be enough restraints or prisons in the world to hold back all of the people pissed off at our Government. It's sad and hearing about this really pissed me off. 'Nuff said.
