Making Ends Meet in Today's Military

As probably everyone is aware, "Don't ask - don't tell" has been replaced with "Kiss me and I'll tell you," but it gets worse. The UCMJ ban on bestiality has also been removed. If the farmer or shepherd doesn't give his consent, does it become rape? PETA must have been napping on this one. I can recall reading our large, framed UCMJ over the duty NCO's desk when I got bored, now it's probably the size of a Geneva Convention card.

I'm waiting for the first law suite from someone that got a BCD or Dishonorable for engaging in bestiality. I can see the argument; since it's OK now it should have been OK then and the person's discharge was discriminatory and unfair.

The Manual of Courts Marshal is about 2.5 inches thick. That is before all the recent changes. Glad I am now out of the army. Stuff is getting real stupid now.

Would you mind citing your source?

Fox News (verifying anything via the internet takes a matter of minutes). It was didcussed on the tube yesterday evening so by now the world knows of that decision. There's also a report this morning of the Air Force mortuary at Dover dumping the remains of 274 servicemen in a Virginia landfall. Think we have problems yet?

I searched on Fox News and the Military Times and couldn't find it.

It was on their national news last night. Check CNS News on the internet for the senate version.

Thanks from GARRARD

I got it now willriskit. There is still a provision under article 134 against animal cruelty, which I hope any commander would consider beastiality to be. This bill that strikes article 125 from the UCMJ stands a decent chance of never becoming law because of some other issues.

I think that a person who engages in bestiality is sick to begin with and should be discharge from military service regardless of law present. UCMJ article 134 should cover the flagrant act.

I think it'll most likely pass because beastiality is linked to sodomy in the Senate Armed Services Cimmittee form and the heterophobic groups will never allow a ban on sodomy to remain in effect. Remember, the sodomite's strongest ally is the commander-in-chief. Sure glad I served when I did.
