True or not I don't want his name associated with me in life or death.

Have you guys been seeing the stuff about the bodies of some KIA's being put in landfills? Watched the report on Fox last night. According to an Air Force spokesperson he said that families were not notified of the final disposition of their bodies. What's up with that?

What is up with that? We are witnessing the outcome of what happens when military service is looked at as a career, not a calling or duty. These brainless apes stick it out for 20 years, retire at 38, and are set for life. Very few make the sacrifice and have the warrior spirit. Even fewer than that make it to top leadership slots.

Meanwhile, the true warriors, the ones that America needs, were treated with disrespect by these pieces of Sh$&, dumped in landfills, or return home scarred mentally and physically. Others are the first ones let go by this drawdown that started 2 years ago.

The Truth via Snopes.com

Just FYI, here's the Snopes.com version. It's apparently a defensible change in protocol, and did not come from the POTUS, much as I dislike him.

Check it out for yourselves. It's apparently an administrative and chain-of-command thing, originated during the G. W. Bush administration!

+1. Nobody knows who's gonna be a warrior or a slouch til that moment when duty leaves no escape. IMHO, We the People (under the previous admin) screwed the pooch by not bringing back the draft, and we're paying the price today by all the other foolishness that's happening in American life and won't go away.

The final words!

And so to bed it goes! BTW, OP, my sincere thanks for any and all military services your family gave to this occasionally vastly-unappreciative nation.

There's a very good essay in this week's Time Mag about so many soldiers who will now be returning to face an apathetic public, those who now try to pass off their apathy by buying the soldier in the airport a drink or a meal, or walking up and thanking them directly. Nice yup, but sincere? I wonder. Time suggests that the realization that so many are openly thankful is only because they didn't have to go there themselves...

Reinstate the draft, IMHO. Check out Switzerland's and Germany's success with this concept! But as well, we have to ensure, both legally and Constitutionally, that no single POTUS or his deranged Secretary of Defense, (*NOTE: Speaking of which, where is Rummy these dayz? In the asylum one hopes...) can just pop us into another war for the sake of his family's ego-trust...

Anyhow, worth picking up and reading, IMHO.
