New Custom GWLA

Once in awhile a job comes into my shop that just begs to be bragged about. This is one of those special M14 rifles that a customer looked long and hard to find just the right parts for. I nearly fainted when I first took the stock out of the box, it was so beautiful! I never can find any this good. It's built on a Gunworks of LA receiver, one of the last few produced. It all just sort of fell together which is indicative of rifles that seem to work perfectly and shoot great.

Her Name Will Be TIGRESS

Her name will be Tigress.
WOW TED WHAT A BEAUTIFUL SUPRISE!
Especially after being broke down on I95 today for 3 hours!

She looks beautiful Ted! You definitely worked your magic! This one will not escape like the M14E2 from years ago. She will be passed on to one of my daughters.

Your comments and photos are most appreciated. Your post literally brought tears to my eyes. Yes I guess it is that passion we have for the M14!

Wasted ammo, I hand picked that stock from Fred's years ago and sent it to Richard S. Borecky - "The Stock Doc". I asked him just to do a military oil finish while preserving the cartouche and proof mark. Needless to say he did a beautiful job!

TRW barrel, TRW bolt, TRW op rod (purchased from Elmer Ballance) and all other parts USGI.

Ted built her as a standard service rifle. I have a real affinity for our Vietnam Veterans and for Vietnam military history.

Ted feel free to share any other details about her that I may not know yet.

Thanks everyone for their kind comments but all appreciation should be directed to Ted.

That's a thing of pure beauty right there!

BTW, the stock looks just like koa, the best grade of koa too. :)

Since TreelineM14 bought Fred's M14 Stock inventory perhaps some more of these full figured stocks exist. FYI, it is a H&R stock with the H imprint beneath the buttplate.

I've seen a lot of good reviews about TreelineM14.

Impressed!

It takes more than a fancy stock to impress me, just like a beautiful woman there's got to be substance too!

That rifle is special, it has all the the makings of an heirloom quality rifle. You want a special M14, you always start with a quality receiver, this gentleman did just that, when he purchased a GunWorks of Lower Alabama receiver. They were built to USGI specification and finished in a way that would make the folks at Colts custom shop proud.

He didn't stop there, he employed one of the best M14 builders to get the job done. Ted Brown is that Builder, years of experience and dedicated to putting out only quality work. I know this because of his posts and talking to folks that have had Ted do work for them.

You sir have impressed me, your attention to detail is what separates you from the ordinary.

Congratulations on a job well done!

GWLA "TIGRESS"

I can't say enough about how pleased I am with Ted's build of my "TIGRESS". First Ted is a class act! A true gentleman! Ted went far beyond what was called for in my build. His attention to detail is unsurpassed by none. The little extra things he did I will be forever grateful for.

I thought I had procrastinated too long and had missed out on the GWLA receivers. But much to my delight Ted had procured some of the last GWLA receivers completed. Thus, "TIGRESS" was born.

Thank you so much Ted Brown! And I haven't even got my hands on her yet.

Thanks from XM25Ren
