Yes , very close in feel.
I like to keep a few USGI fiberglass stocks around for initial testing. Walnut is my preference for a finished rifle though.
If one is not careful , the walnut can take a beating going in and out of the storage area. Op rods from it's neighbors can take a toll. I keep a steamer close by and make repairs before they get too unsightly.

Very nice. I keep a container of Citri-strip close by.

With all of the M14s you have in wood, you should have a special rack made for them out of some beautiful wood with a little bit extra space between them to ward off the op rod dings. Just a thought, It could be a pretty display.

Excellent suggestion.
Working on building a vault room. M-14s are a very small part of my collection and it would be nice to walk up to a rifle and take it off a rack rather than moving a bunch to get to the one I want to shoot that day.
An ammo bunker would be nice also. It is amazing how the stash has grown over 50 years of being a pack rat.

Perhaps you should look into something more suitable to the size of your collection: PAANG Sunbury Armory for sale

I have a VG +30% fancy walnut stock arriving today from Treeline. Will put up a pic when it arrives. I got all my Sadlak parts and tools from there as well and they ship same-day.

Thanks from nf1e

Just got a VG +fancy from Treeline. Some dings and wear but should finish up nice for my first refinish.

Are those white marks just repaired dings that will steam out?

Now if it could be moved, easily , to my yard and add a couple of cannons either side of the flagpole, I might ask the wife permission.
Somehow I think I know the answer already.
She has agreed to the vault room. I was happy with that.
