I'd like to see a copy of the traditional USGI synthetic stock with flush mounted quick release sling swivel mounts on the sides of the stock in addition to the front and rear sling swivels mounted on the side. Simple, inexpensive, and functional.
Being that the original gov't issue fiberglass stocks were molded in two halves and then glued together before being primed and painted, I wouldn't think it would be that hard to incorporate the sling mounts into the design.
Magpul manufactures some outstanding, innovative products (along with some that are downright useless IMHO), but they're not going to invest the time and money into a product that appeals to a smaller market. Most M14s in military service seem to be on the way out and headed back into storage in Anniston in favor of FNs tupperware gun (yuck), so there'd be little opportunity for military sales except to maybe in places like the Baltic states, and that would probably be a remote possibility at best.
Honestly, whatever they did develop and offer sale would probably be hideous to those of us who appreciate the beautiful lines of the our beloved U.S. Rifle, Cal. 7.62 MM M14.
Or, maybe it would grow on us. Can't fault someone for prioritizing function over form.
