Looking for extra stock

As the title say, I'm looking for an extra stock to drop my SAI loaded into. I posted want to buy in the PX, am I being to cheap? Is there another source that would better serve my needs? Any help would be appreciated. I'm specifically looking for a decent shape straight stock to modify for a bipod and possibly paint. I can't bring myself to do that to the stock I have, it ain't the nicest walnut in the world but to me it has meaning. My first if you will.

Thanks John

Hello, Wasted ammo,
Well, I can't say you are being cheap or not, but you did get one reply to your post... as I recall. And, as I recall: You didn't state a price range you were willing to spend. So.....
But it sounds like you are looking for an USGI fiberglass or an SAI composite stock. Because, why would someone want to paint over wood?? a rifle isn't a house or a boat..Just my thinking... I like steel and wood... oh, but I have a few of the USGI FG and SAI composite stocks on hand.... But, again what do you want to spend???
You may want to try GB,WCS,Sarco and or ebay to name a few sources.... Good luck on your search.
But, you must know, what the going rate is, so you can jump at a good deal when you see it... Happy hunting.....

I did the same thing you are talking about for had a super nice blank of California Walnut with lots of figure, tiger stripes, burl, etc. and had Wenigs turn it for my LRB SA rifle. Then had Paul at LRB do the bedding and I did the final sanding finish work. Negative to this project hate to ding it or scratch it much and got a very nice GI glass stock from Old Sarge on this site and did so to use for casual shooting at local 200yd. range. This coming season, Lord Willing, will attend the matches at Whitehorse Range in WV and there will switch to the match prepped stock. One battle stock and one match stock approach.

The only inexpensive stock that can readily support a bipod is the one you have. If you want to reuse your metal, you can get a bare walnut stock from Boyds for just over $100.

You can often find take-off stocks like yours for about $150, with all metal. Ebay and Gunbroker usually have them. I can probably scrounge one up if you don't have any luck.
