Lesson learned on M14 stock

Posted an M14 stock on Ebay. It took an entire day, but they removed it because it came under their "Assault Weapons Parts and Accessories" ban.

I had no idea.

And yet if you use different "key" words you will find several M14/ M1A stocks for sale on ebay. It's really stupid.

Put it up for sale in the PX, there is no assault rifle ban going in here!

PX. What better place to sell anything that has to do with an M14 than the M14forum.

And they aren't even "assault rifles" as they have no pistol grip, no collapsible stock, etc.

And the stock doesn't even have a bayonet lug on it or a detachable magazine.

I remember when people were selling M1 Garand bolts and calling them "headspace checking device".

I think the answer to eBay and their approach to guns and ammo is Gunbroker. It's an auction site just like eBay, right? I agree with others here though...drop it on the PX.

I see a lot of M14 and M1A stocks on Ebay. The sellers don't use the exact nomenclature. You will usually find them listed as something like "Springfield .308 stock."

I've bought two M1 Garand stocks AND an nice M14 stock on FleaBay since just before Thanksgiving.

Auction Key Words are the thing. I see them listed as "Vintage 30 cal," "Military Stock," "308 Stock," "M1 Stock" etc...

Smile eBay, ShmeBay

Howdy Buckeroos,

A few weeks ago I sold a new Sadlak steel mount on eBay.

It was paid for and shipped.

Last week I got a message from eBay saying they had removed the listing because it a part for an "assault weapon".

A little late folks.

At the same time I listed four large sub-caliber projectiles from my collection. Three had "Buy It Now" options and sold within hours - I forgot to do that on the fourth.

A few days after I listed it, eBay removed it.

That's show biz - a collector on the East Coast contacted me and now it is in his collection.

Keep yer powder dry,

John

You can most likely buy a Bazooka on Ebay if you put 2 words in front of the listing! "Air Soft"!
But really I know you wanted to sell it to the uninformed. We got your #!
In the PX you will sell if for a fair price and to someone who will appreciate it!
(Line #2) I was kidding!

I sold an Ultimak rail awhile back that had M1A in the title. It took a few weeks after it was sold for them to catch it and send me to "banned camp" for 3 days. They kept the seller fees, though.

Maybe 'M1_A'?

Of course, you'd probably be happier if it found a home among friends :)

I have sold a few and some have gotten under the censor's radar but I had to change the nomenclature on the last 2. I used:
M1-4 and M1 A springfield..... People are also selling pc incorrect 30rd and high cap mags by listing them as 10rd. It's just a matter of semantics.
They don't seem to have any problem with M1 Garand or M1 carbine. I was contacted by phone by ebay before they axed my M1A listing and found that garand and carbine were ok.

It seems to me if us as a group have the slightest interest in 2nd amendment issues we should not be using E-bay.
