I heard Brown used to make a good stock.

I was wondering if anyone has a M1A in one of their stocks and could provide feedback and pictures.

If you're able to compare the two stocks side by side your input or advise would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

I cant find any information on Brown Precision stocks for the M1A. I do know that Mcmillan has been the gold standard for precision fiberglass stocks for a long time. I have one a few for both the M1A and bolt action rifles. I have nothing but great things to say about them. Manners is the newer guys one the block and for my bolt actions I have switched over to them instead of Mcmillan. I have had concerns and questions about manners so I emailed them and the owner of the company personally responded to my inquiry. He resolved my concerns and won a customer for life. I have also heard rumors that they are going to work on their M1A prototype stock again which will surely bring some healthy competition to Mcmillan.

So super dumb question: how much on top of the stock will it cost to get a McMillan bedded.

Also how hard is it to install but plate assembly, sling mount, etc.

I did it myself. Tony Ben will have a video up if he hasn't already on how to bed the M1A. From what I found before I did it myself was it would have cost about 150 to 250 for someone to do it for me so I said bag that and I did it myself. Remember if you do be sure to use lots of releasing agent, it will help avoid the major headache in the end.

I still have no idea what a Brown precision stock looks like.
