Anyone out there have experience with shortening a stock and finding a buttplate that fits the shortened stock? I cut my stock right at the cutout for the hinge plate. Any thing close that can be modified to fit, like M1 carbine, 1903 or any hard plastic that I can shape to fit? The commercial grind to fit recoil pads need a lot of shaping to fit, I'm just checking to see if anyone made a plate fit from another rifle.
Thanks for your input.

I believe Bamban did one or had one done for him, I believe their is a thread on it . Either search :: shorten stock or check all the threads for Bamban.
Yes, I had one done up at JY Wolfe's shop, http://www.shop.m-14parts.com/main.sc;jsessionid=668E6D2724EB43024E99B15EC856DA5A.m1plqscsfapp04

JD Russell did the work, http://m14forum.com/accuracy/165346-jy-wolf-5r-barreled-sei.html

The stock was shortened an inch to meet the CMP rulebook, now it is 32 1/2
