Hey Doc I went up looking for Birch but all these walnuts just started winking at me...That one is most unusual. It is what he calls a "National Match" meaning it has the bedding cutouts top and bottom. It is Presentation Grade and BEAUTIFUL. Last time I was there I thought I got the finest one I had ever seen for another board member, but this one...

The 1st one and the 5th one are already spoken for, some are being considered. I have several more I will be listing in the PX as soon as I get my metal back from the park tank.

Absolutely fabulous work! When you pick out a stock that you were going to restore is figure and grain the only things you look at or do you also take into consideration the amount of compression in the lockup areas?

I go looking for the unusual. If it connects with me I put it aside. I try and see an inner glow that should not be there and that is what I keep. Like I mentioned before, I went up this time with the intent of only picking out Birch, I have finished so many walnut lately I miss the Birch, but as I'm going through the stacks I find it impossible to leave these things there.

I never even think about the lockup. It is all about the quality of the wood to me. That is my reward for the trip.

Wade those stocks are simply out of this world. I thought the last batch was super…but these just pull the eyeballs out of my head. What you create is DESIRE, and I am suffering an intense episode right now. You are the master and VSR is envious. Simply great. Thanks my friend.
