archangel

hello guys. i really haven't heard anything bad about the archangel stock for the m1a, and that is coming from people i know at my outdoor range. that is why i would like to try them for my Remington 700 police LTR. has anyone have any experience with these archangel stocks? http://www.archangelmanufacturing.co...changel-aa700/

i figured that the one mag and detachable mag assembly alone is worth the money.

i got one for the m1a and its okish. ill put it this way, i got it hoping to not have to get a high dollar one and now im waiting for my ebr to show up because im not that happy with it. it is just like any ole plastic stock and it does have some nice things it adds to your rifle but you get what you pay for.

There has been alot of discussion about the M1A Archangel and I did a review when they first came out. I for one have been nothing but pleased with mine. I imagine the 700 one would be just as good.

I'm with you on this one. I didn't do any sanding for a tight fit. Issue is its so tight my action locks up pretty often too. So, I either have to sand it to loosen it up or just go buy a Sage EBR. I'm doing the latter.

I just picked one up from http://www.tacticalvantage.com/

It's aluminum bedded and converts it to a magazine fed bolt gun

At 188.00 I couldn't pass it up. It fits well. I'm not sure about the integrated bipod. I bought it for bench shooting and the bipod is not adjustable and seems to have some play in it.

The added weight is much better than the polymer stock my VTR came in.

Aluminum bedded in an Archangle stock? I find that very hard to believe, these stocks are not manufactured with aluminum bedding, they are all plastic. Either sombody lied to you or it isn't an Archangel stock.

Oh my, it's obvious you don't understand what you read. This isn't an aluminum bedded stock, it's got pillars that are bedded

Aluminum pillar bedded
There is a big difference between an aluminum bedded stock and just having the pillars bedded. The pillars are the bushings that the stock screws go through and if they are aluminum bedded then they have put an aluminum/epoxy compound or aluminum blocks around where those bushings go through the stock. An aluminum bedded stock has some sort of aluminum/epoxy layer or an aluminum skeleton along it's entire length or at least at strategic points where the receiver contacts the stock.

The Archangel is a polymer (plastic) stock and this newer version is advertised as being filled with carbon fiber, that means that they have mixed carbon fibers in the plastic and then created the stock through some kind of plastic shaping process, either high pressure extrusion or a simpler mold process.

Also, how did you get it for $188? They advertise $349.03, or did you get the older version stock.

Don't get me wrong, I think that the Archangle stock has it's place but don't even try to confuse it with a high quality, top of the line stock...it's not even close. Heck, you can get high quality National Match USGI stocks for less than $300 that are every bit as good and better in some ways. This newer version might actually be worth the increased price if they've improved the stock's stiffness.
