B.R.E.D.A M1D- FKF crest

I stumbled onto this rifle recently and aquired it immediately gambling it wasnt junk.
So far everything appears like new and perfect, Havent fired it yet but someone spent some big $$$ refinishing this rifle.
It is stamped BREDA on the left side,

and FKF on the receiver, is a 308 and has been refinished in a ghost grey.

Trigger group us a cast SA, most other parts are "B", Breda or Beretta.
It has a new stock and cheeckpiece, as well as an M84 scope and mount.

All internals appear new. Barrel is marked .308 and looks new.

I know Winchester set the Italians up post WWII and that they built rifles for Danes.. FKF....and the BM59 etc.

What I dont know is its commonality or collectability, I have decided to sell one of my .308 Garands, either this one or my late WWII Springfield.
Im leaning towards the M1D, Just dont see alot of scoped 308 BREDA's aeound here.
Any advice is greatly appreciated. Cheers

They're real collectible. I'm dickering on one right now, all Berda parts, original barrel, nice original wood. Garands are different from a lot of guns with respect to refinishing--in many cases it doesn't affect(or even increases) the value or collectibility IMO. If you reblue an old luger, swap parts, etc., you can destroy much of the collector value, again IMO. Here's a link I hope helps: http://www.odcmp.org/new_forum/topic...rchTerms=breda

Super nice rifle you have!

Really nice find. Not many around, much less in the shape shown.

Here's a couple pics of mine. TE is 1.5, MW is 1.75, with a bright shiney bore. I hope to get time to shoot it next week. All parts BMP, except front handguard ferrule(PB). Stock is numbered, but doesn't match the receiver. http://s695.photobucket.com/albums/v..._photos/breda/

Who made the barrel? All the danish M1d's seem to be either springfield or winchester with springfield barrels. I bought 10 of them and there wasn't any breda or beretta's. Canada got most of the danish mid's and most of them were "parted out" for export to the us. The guns came with sling, flash-hider,danish marked scopes.

I have a Berretta Garand similar to yours with the same beautiful tiger stripe stock. Anyone know why so many of these Italian Garands have such beautiful stocks? I have two 308 Berretta Garands one with a Springfield barrel the other with a Danish barrel When my sons come home for Christmas I will try and get them to help me post some pics to share and hopefully get me some info about what I have. I also have an M1D I bought 20+ years ago for $800Cdn. I was told it belonged to some retired military officer from the Philipines, looks original to me. I buy rifles I like when I see them and figure out what I have later.Oh yeah, I shoot all of 'em
