Was buying an M1 Tanker model by installments when I was stationed at Camp Pendleton back in 1967. Cost was $125.00 at a gunstore in Oceanside. I'd paid $99.00 of it off, and had one more payment to go to take possession. Then I got transferred to Hawaii, with one day to prepare and take leave before shipping out. I went to visit family in California before my departure, and never had time to finish paying for the rifle and to have it shipped home to Michigan. Lost my money and my Tanker model.
Now have a full-size M1 which I bought in Las Vegas years ago.

USGI wood, HRA trigger, bolt, gas plug.

Someone asked, no reply. Where did some of you get the pistol grips on the M1s?
