Which M1 is your favorite?

Out of curiosity/bragging rights/whatever...

Many of us who post here own multiple M1's. Do you have a favorite? Why? Is it a collector grade M1-D, or a low serial number rack grade with a shot out barrell? What sets it apart from your others?

For me, my favorite Garand is a 1952 SA correct grade.
(I traded a Bushmaster AR-15 for it about 3 years ago.) It's my rifle of choice when going to John Garand matches. The rifle's finish is about 98% and no other stock I have owned has compared to it. The feel combined with partially wore down cartouches is just right. Even though I prefer WW2Garands, this is one rifle I will never part with.

My 1955 SA with an almost new 52' barrel is my favorite. I had a 39',42', and a 44' but the 55' just feels nice and shoots great too.
The others are gone but the 55s a keeper.

I think maybe I'm a bit swayed though as it's the year I was born. Something to hand down to my son one day.

My favorite is my July of 41 SA. Nothing particularly nice about it. My other Garand shoots better. Probably has something to do with 4 of the 5 digits of the SN matching my squadron identifier. I'd trade it for #35151 if anyone has that rifle.

My favorite is my 1940 5 digit I bought as a woodless Dane.
Added a stock from my parts bin and it still shoots OK with the 1-51 barrel. It even has the old lock bar sight.
It's like holding history in your hands.

I have several M1's, but my favorite is my original 6,091,*** with its beautiful walnut tiger striped stock. This rifle is a real "eye popper"!!! It's definitely in the "too nice to shoot" catagory.

I have a springfield that was manufactured in Dec. 1941 the start of the war. It's kind of jacked up but using the serial number range manufactured in that month and dividing by the number of working days (mon-fri) I came up with the half-a## date of Dec 12, 1941. Not scientific, but what the hell.....

My favorite is my first from CMP,June 1944 production with a 6/44 barrell most likely its original, its a rack grade mixmaster with a worn muzzle but just something about it makes it my favorite.
Has that certain worn, been there done that look about it.Might also have to do with it being same month as D-Day

My favorite is my CMP '42 SA with original finish, lead-dipped heel, 9-42 barrel and EMcF stock. I rub it down with linseed oil from time to time...shoot it occasionally.

Just something about the potential history there, the stock is pretty dinged up with evidence of clipped ammo being smacked into it.

I also have 2 CMP lottery M1Ds, but they are mostly safe queens except for one I shoot occasionally.

I also have a 5.9M SA that is brand new condition, but my '42 is my favorite.

I have one of each maker plus one. My favorite is my Oct 1941 Springfield though. Was my first. Service grade, lockbar sights uncut op rod. Finish is about gone on the reciever. Kinda silverish green. Got it in 2002. It is the one that got me addicted. My Win and HRA shoot great. IHC is BEAUTIFUL. But this was my first.

My favorite M1 is whichever one I am holding at the time. I'm that way about my grandkids, too. I know, I know, that's not a real answer.

My favorite is the one I got from DCM back in the eighties. I shot it in matches for years until I built my M1A then semi retired it. About three years ago I researched the serial number and found out it was built the same month and year I was born, July 1944! That made it extra special.
