Help me out here, I would like to get an idea how many Members actively shoot the M1 Garand. Actively is the key word..

Maybe if enough, I can share a few ideas about improving you M1's behavior.. Art

I don't compete, have only had an M1 for a few months, only shoot HXP surplus, only shot about 300 rounds thus far. Mine is a CMP Service grade, LEAD 6-66.

I'm likely not your target market but would enjoy reading anything you put out on the subject!

Go for it, Art. There are more of us out here than one might think. Mine is a CMP Special in .308-more accurate than I am.

Got a couple of them, I take one with me every time I go to the range, except the indoor range.

I have a Service Grade Special and I just joined a shooting club in Indiana that holds a lot of matches of all types including CMP Garand matches. I have a bunch of HXP and plan to have a go at it for fun. Please share your knowledge.

Garand

I have a May 1941 Springfield that I shoot regularly for Military Benchrest at 200yds. Used to shoot it in monthly Garand and Old Soldiers (prone) matches at 200 yds before I moved. It is my "go to" gas gun, even more than my M1A.

I only do CMP matches every other month and a couple practice sessions here and there. I don't know if that qualifies for "actively shooting" the Garand.

I shoot mine in 3-gun matches 2 or 3 times a year. Not sure if that's "active" enough for you.

I have 3 of them.
Take at least one to the range every other week.
Plan to try shooting some matches at my club but need some more offhand practice first.

I have an SAI NM with me here in CO and several SG's in WA state and put a couple of hundred rounds through the commercial one here in CO.

Completed with the M1 before I switched to the M14

Good information is good information.

It would be great if you're willing to share it.

No, I don't shoot it as much as I used to, but it's not locked up in the safe like my M1A has been, since I got that old rack grade Greek return M1 that shoots so well it made the M1A a safe queen.
