1 original. the inside of the barrel looks like the surface of the moon.
1 FA T-26 in 308.
A short lull in blasting for cold wx right now.
What is M-1 behavior and shouldn't we be calling .308 / 7.62 natos M-2s ?

I have a cmp garand since 2007. I love my rifle and I don't shoot it enough. I shoot it as much as I possibly can but I load up 250 or so rounds put them in enblocs and for some reason those same enblocs are empty. I can't explain it except It happens when I am in the woods and I have my garand with me. Go figure.
I keep this up and I will have to save for a new barrel here soon.

I used my CMP Special 30-06 last year and someone else's the year before that in John C Garand matches. I haven't actually competed with my M1A or AR.

I usually shoot 2 matches per year with the Garand. One match (last weekend) is a two day event across the course with a fully NM prepped rifle. The other is a 200yd Games match with a plain Jane.

If you share any information, please share the part that eliminates the first round ALWAYS striking low left.

I bought a CMP "42" Springfield barreled action with a new Springfield 53 bbl a few years back. Gathering I think all Springfield parts except a 50's H&R stock made me a great shooter. I rotate with the M1A for a local 200 CMP match and have taken it to Perry a few times. One of my favorites . With my loads it's doing around 2 1\2 to 3 inch groups off the bench after reading some of yours and Mr Fishers past posts. I'm just not much of a hard holder these days. Thank you.

I shoot the garand REAL regular like multiple times a week between Marchish thru Novemberish around here some times we start in January. I would be real anxious to hear what you have to say Art. If no one else wants to hear it I will give you my email address. I greatly appreciate anything you have to tell us. And THANK-YOU in advance

I have a couple of Garands & tend to take one to the range six or eight weekends per year, if not more often. I don't formally compete. I do tend to leave a Garand set up on a 200yd bench & like to show youngsters shooting their optics-laden ARs that they can hit a target at 200yds with iron sights.

M1 Garand

M1 Garand.jpg

I have a Fulton Armory Enhanced 06 and i take it to range a few times a year.
Only shoot at 100yds but it shoots a real tight group. One of these days i'll have to take it somewhere to stretch its legs.

I shoot one of mine on a regular basis, including my newest, a McCoy built .308 Garand. Built in 1997. Even have the build sheet and signed by Mr. McCoy.

Thanks from art luppino
