Agreed. A few years ago he put this 1903A4-gery together for me. No complaints here.

Thumbs up Range Report Old War Horse !

Well, made it out the range this weekend for a little shooting. Weather was bright and cool with a good stiff cross wind. Shot one ten round group at three hundred yards that some real promise. The others it did not like.

Load- 175 smk's
powder-IMR 4064
primer-WLP
OAL-20 thousand's off lands.

Take a look at the target. I did not set the scope for the bulls eye, I just wanted to see the grouping. The two shots to the right are my problem, having a time getting use to "Chuck's" trigger job. The two shots low and left, I miss read the wind.

What I like is the core grouping of six shots that I read the wind right, looks like I can work a little more on that load. Hope to get out next weekend.

The new scope screws that I put on the scope seems to be holding up well. I put 40 plus rounds down range and it did not work loose. The WLM USMC 8 power clone seems to be working out after replacing the cheap screws. Glass is clear and the cross hairs are crisp. More to follow later.

Thumbs up Range Report Old War Horse !

Well, went to my first Match in the Vintage Sniper program. Took the War Horse and put her thu the steps..

My partner and I shot a 396 8x . I could not be happier the way she shot and the work that Chuck in Denver did on the trigger and the scope mounts!!!! I still need to do a little work on the load, try and dial it in a little better. Just want to get it the best I can for Perry this year.

Now the scope performed well, when we went from the long range down to 300 the scope moved well. The clicks are a little mushy but if you take your time they will repeat. The USMC Leather Wood 8x power scope worked well for the price, the glass is clear but I'm still a little worried about the Parallax setting.

You do not have a clear set point to start with. The original scope had a starting point to work with, from 100 yards to infinity, these do not, so you have to play with it... Or I could be looking at it wrong!!!!!

I'll post a picture of the targets when I get them down loaded...

More to come!!!
