I have john masen magazines. Ive never owned CDNN but due to my research these are better than my John Masen magazines which I have had no problems with.

Im sure some people around here have purchased and used these old school CDNN 20 rounders before. Someone i'm sure will chime in.

Thanks from MAC702

These are supposed to be the best aftermarket magazines.

I dug up some of my old research and got these posts of other people validating these magazines being good from these 2 posts below.

CDNN mags are good to go from my experience. They worked flawlessly and from what I can recall were the go to mags among the Mini14 community (which is where I was before coming here).

Man you make me want to build one of these now!! Years ago I saw a guy who did the same thing but he had a muzzle break instead of the flash hider which didn't look as good as yours. Where did you get the flash suppressor from? I wonder if you can modify an older usgi one to fit with the castle nut and everything to make it look more realistic. Either way this thing is awesome! I might pick up 5 or 6 mags just in case I decide to finally go this route. Would be an awesome rifle for my son. It would be a mini me rifle to match daddy's. I can see it now!!

AMK Tactical has been around for some time. Their advertising is not so good sadly. Back when I was building this rifle it took me a long time to find a flash suppressor that wasn't all bird cage like. Well I finally stumbled on this company while combing the internet. They machine these themselves, these are great American made parts and the quality shows. However it can be a pain in the ass to get this installed. BUT I swear to you its worth it.

You have to remove the mini 14 front sight ( a pain), then send it into these guys for machining, then you get it back and put the new flash hider on ( also a pain but easier)

Great job on this project. Love the M14 look. To me, much more satisfying than an AR build. I think you've convinced to me take this on. Got a few other projects to finish but I can start obtaining parts.

Well if you are serious then you might want to get at least one or 2 of the straight 20 round magazines from CDNN that popped up a couple days ago. Because when they are gone its going to be a long long time like years before they are sold again.

I'm going to stick with the M14 upper handguard. If I did go with a wood one then I would make a M1 Garand look alike which would be cool.

Have you thought about drilling a hole in the safety to make it look even more like an M14 safety? Probably wouldn't be hard to do after removing it from the trigger housing. Or maybe even after just removing the trigger housing from the rifle/stock.

Just one more little touch bringing it more closely to the same "look".

Thanks from MAC702 and Killashrub
