I am curious as to the stain colors used…I am about to rebarrel/restock a M1.

A bit OT.

That is a very good looking rifle. Question about the hand guard...I thought they were NOT supposed to touch the stock? Or is there a difference between the M14 & M1?

Duce I think it would be safe to say if there ever was a M1 Garand of the month/Quarter/Year poll on here....you would probably win every time.

Thanks from Duce

There was a hodgepodge of stains used on this.
Water-based: Ritt brown dye.
Alcohol-based: Stew-Mac vintage amber and Fiebings medium brown leather dye.
Base is the Ritt, with a lot of later playing with the other dyes.

That's beautiful boy!
I was digging through my stuff not long ago & come up with an H&R barreled receiver & ALL the parts to build a rifle! I even have a RRAD marked stock that is the same red tint as yours!

Thanks from Duce
