New to Garands

Hello everyone today my wife bought me a nice M1 made by Springfield Armory. How do I tell if its the Arsenal or Springfield Armory Inc? I know the stock isn't original for sure not sure how to tell about the rest of the parts rifle looks almost new so not to sure. Any help would be appreciated I have pics in the community pics albums, "my first Garand" for some reason cant post them in a thread thanks to everyone.

That would be a Springfield Armory of 1942 vintage.

The best place to learn about M1s is the CMP website.

Paul, that's excellent!!

That receiver was produced right in the heart of WWII Springfield production. It really doesn't get any better than that. That's a pre D-Day serial number, which to me is the pinnacle of M1 history personally.

Freaking awesome sir.

That serial number would be in the May-July 1942 production range.
