I lucked out and found a collector-grade CMP H&R Garand in as-shipped condition at a little show this weekend. The seller had the box, but misplaced the paperwork. I called CMP, couldn't get through so I left a messageand have yet to hear back. Is it possible to replace at least the certificate of authenticity and how much does it cost? Thanks.

I don't think so. I think that they will only verify whether or not the rifle came from them.

I doubt they'll issue another one, as there's no way for them to know what's happened to the rifle since it left their hands. They might, though; I'm only speculating. They should be able to tell you if they sold it, however.

The rifle is all original according to Duff's data tables, so all I need is their acknowledgement that it came from CMP. Thanks for the info!

For $25 CMP will send you a form letter that says CMP sold the rifle if it's in CMP's records.
