Props to OOW

Props to the boys over at OOW. I have one of their 1918 BARs and it runs like a top. However I have one issue with it. From day one it has shot about 12” low at 100yds. OOW sent me lower front site bases and that did not alleviate the issue. It took me using a metal file and about ¼” of material off of the front site to make it hit at POA. I called OOW today and they are sending a FED EX driver to pick it up tomorrow. Great customer service! I will purchase another weapon from them; they understand the importance of customer service!

Front sight blades from the US 1917 rifles and the British No. 1 series come in different blade heights and have the same dovetail base as the 1918 BAR.

It would be nice to see photos of what you have - sounds like a nice one.

I saw the pics on the other thread, and it is a real nice USMC commemorative. I would like to suggest that you gently loosen the front sling band on the gas tube and slide it down just above the wood fore grip. For some reason, OOW sets them in the middle of the tube.

If you observe photos of Marines in photos, this is placed where I suggested - you will find that it rides on your shoulder better when you carry it, and the center of gravity is improved.

The above photograph is a color plate from my manuscript "War Paint: A Pictorial History of the 4th Marine Division....." Please respect my copyright. Enjoy.
