Ha ha. One and the same. And CMP. Don't know yet whether there'll be an annual limit.

BTW, what is the general thought on the SGs, any difference between the Springs and Harrys, anyone prefer one over the other?
I have an opportunity to buy and I would love to do it now while they are in stock, so any input from owners?

I have an opportunity to buy and I would love to do it now while they are in stock, so any input from owners? | I'm not sure how much CMP Garand knowledge you have, so I guess I'll start from square one. When the CMP says "Springfield" or "HRA," the only part ona service grade guaranteed to be either Springfield or HRA is the receiver. It's hypothetically possible that a Springfield receiver would have no other Springfield parts.
If you purchase an HRA and you also would like to have a serial number (receiver) that dates its production during or prior to the WWII runs, you'll be disappointed: HRA never produced M1's during WWII. You have to go with Winchester (only made them just previous to and during WWII) or Springfield. Springfield, of course, also manufactured them after WWII.
I only mention this because many people (like myself) are mainly interested in the M1 because of its WWII service. I doubt anyone out there would speak to the quality differences on a level that affect functionality or accuracy in just the receivers alone. So it's really just brand/armory/historical preference, really, in my book.

This is good to know! I should stop procrastinating and get the relevant information to the CMP so I can become a member.

Ach! I find it odd that I must have page 2A of the universal order form notarized, but I will get on that in the morning so I can get everything mailed out to the CMP. I am going to get a Service Grade M1 Garand made by Springfield Armory and some Greek surplus HXP ammunition.

If you want a particular serial # range or USGI wood, a sticky note MIGHT help you. Remains to be seen this time around. Good luck!

Just spent over an hour on hold trying to get some ordering info, only to be forwarded to a voice mailbox. WTF.

They're swamped. SGs just being back in stock. That's the best value in both collecting and shooting Garands.
