| What's the story on those S. Korean M1s and M1 Carbines?
This was in the news a while back, especially about Ms. Rodham-Clinton's personal efforts to get 'em scrapped. So... did it ever get resolved? Or, did the CMP program suddenly pick up a few good authentic M1s and M1 carbines? That would certainly lower the price for a while... Or did Sarco get some of them I wonder? http://www.militarytrader.com/articl...ean-M1-rifles/
Seems like The Last & Final Opp. to get one of these gems while we still can! Unless ...(sob) they had a good old fashioned rifle burning..... with Billary presiding and dancing around in the flickering flame--light? (Now there's a lovely vision, eh?)

I thought it was decided, and the gov't wouldn't let them back in.. (shakes fist)
Very aggrivating.

There was a report/rumor going around that some congress critters were putting together legislation to allow those M1 Garands and Carbines in. Haven't heard anything new lately. Sure hope they can get it passed. |

I thought I saw in the news somewhere that they were officially denied entrance here.
When a million or so Kenyans start dancing around with M1s we'll sure know what's up.

Last I heard it was still a no go. The question, if they are allowed back in, is whose nephew or brother-in-law is getting that deal?

Great idea for a bumper sticker, 'Get rid of Obama, get M1 Garands!'

The real story on these is that they are Lend Lease and therefore still US Government property. We will not allow them to be sold through importers for profit. The only way they will be allowed back into the US is via CMP.

I thought I read an article that stated the South Koreans bought these weapons and are not US gov't property.
This could be wrong. I wish they would be let in to the private market. It could possibly flood the market and lower some prices for collectors.
I wonder about the condition of these rifles...
I can also agree with the WH administration about the horrible crime these rifles would create. I see too many drive-by bayoneting crimes in the bad parts of town.

I think the Koreans said they bought them, but when we pressed them on it, they couldn't remember where they had put the receipt.
Net, they are likely lend/lease and come in for fee via the CMP, or not at all. Given that the Koreans are after cash, it isn't likely anytime soon.

Last I heard, Hillary convinced Yomama that we don't need "all those guns" "on the streets," and got him to very quietly kill the deal.

I see too many drive-by bayoneting crimes in the bad parts of town. | I read that the Koreans acknowledged that **some** of the weapons were provided under Foreign Military Sales, and that some came as foreign aid. They supposedly couldn't separate the two categories due to clerical errors, and wanted to sell the entire lot.

This is weird. How can any kind of Russian rifle & pistol be imported? This looks another major SNAFU.
