Always wanted an Ithaca Mag 10 Roadblocker. Still do. Somewhere about 12 to 15 years ago a buddy says, "man, if you buy that big Ithaca you'll never be able to shoot it as you wont be able to afford the ammo... what you need is a 3½ inch 12ga." Worked at a big sporting goods store, so on the employee Christmas shopping night (25% off retail) I got this Remington 870 Express Super Mag.
I had the original barrel cut to 19-inches and added a Wilson/Scattergun +2 and all was good for years. Shot skeet for several years with it, probably has several thousand rounds through it thus far.
About a year or so ago, I got bit by the shotgun bug real bad. Started reading a lot of different books on shotguns and looking at way too much shotgun porn. Reading some zombie fiction and also some different accounts of the Marines in the South Pacific during World War Two. I came up with my twisted little idea I've got here. Bit longer barrel than a trench-gun, big magazine, rifle sights and of course has to be the 3½ inch.
Got the barrel off a second 870 Super Mag (to one day be Dreadnought No. 2), this is 23-inches long and has factory Remington rifle sights. Got the extended magazine tube from Tactical Ordnance out of Canada, it was custom cut to match up with the barrel. Clark magazine clamp. Got some new wood off ePay and sweet talked a friend into refinishing it. Got it all parkerized by a local guy. Gun uses a standard Rem Choke and has a MOD variant in there right now.
It's a big shotgun to be sure. A tad on the heavy side. Will shoot everything from the cheap Wal-Mart low brass loads to 3½ inch 00 Buck (18 pellets moving out in a hurry). I figure it'd be good for zombies and such and looks kinda cool too.
