I just bought a 9-shot Mariner the other day. I began to load it for the first time and discovered the magazine spring was defective. I've been waiting over two weeks for the replacement. I think it's sad that a new customer has to wait this long to fire a shotgun costing $500. I'm guessing that's why there is a 10 year warranty, since most of the time will be spent waiting to be able to fire the weapon.

On a side note, I purchased a Spec-Ops Tactical pistol grip stock. Supposed to absorb a lot of recoil....I guess I'll find out when I finally get my magazine spring replacement.

I have the same gun in blue...I'm thinking of taking off the heat shield though....doesn't do anything for me and I think it would look better...

The spring kinked after only (6) 2 3/4" shells were loaded. After inspecting the spring I knew it would have to be replaced. I can tolerate the malfunction but having to wait for a replacement for this long is plain stupid. They have the part but won't ship it out till they're ready to do so. The guy gave me some half-ass explanation that I quickly forgot because of my frustration I had at this point. If I don't have the spring by next Wednesday the next call I make will ruin the day of the person who answers my call.

I just have to give a plug for havlinsales.com customer service. Excellent. The first forend had a small piece broken off along the inside edge (it was finished over and thus ostensibly had arrived that way from whoever made it) and Havlin replaced it and didn't ask me to return the broken one.

Excellent communication and service. Give them your business if you have the opportunity.

I have the basic model 590A1. I love the solid feel and the ghost ring sights are nice as well.
