Talking Combat Shotgun Photo Thread

Let see em! I am trying to build up my newest addition, a Mossberg M590A1 Marine Corps shotgun. I recently picked this thing up for next to nothing and I am wanting to build it into my own personal shotgun. I plan to use it for home defense as well as 3 gun matches. I am not concerned so much about weight, as I am a big guy and can handle it.

To give you an idea, I found this photo on Pintrest and I abolsutely love it! I want to model mine after this shotgun, but have a few changes so that I am not copying it exactly. It looks like it has everything a man could need and I love the thought of an AFG and hand stop on the pump. Great idea.

Right now my shotgun is setup as is from the factory. I would like to change the barrel and get a set of ghost ring sights. I would also like to have the heatshield and tri-rail pump grip. I am also considering a duracoat or maybe even a rattlecan job. I would love to see your shotguns and set-ups! Give me some good ideas fellas/fellaettes!

I just keep mine stock; I didnít feel the need for everything else on it. I did think about the side saddle but they are uncomfortable when you sling them up on your body.

My slightly modified Mossberg 500A with Knoxx folding stock. I can fire this all day with 00 buck and not feel a thing.

Old school auto 5. I have a 870 with a speed feed and a sidesaddle. But I prefer the A5. Just picked up a 97 takedown on the cheap that I will shorten up soon

Anybody have a duckbill choke that they used in 'Nam to spread the shot horizontally?

Just my thoughts;

The military had and has a very valid reason for developing the shotgun as a combat weapon and I even understand why our LEO's have the need.

But the tacti-cool stuff on a shotgun doesn't make much sense. I've got an 870 and a whinchester in pistol grip, short barrel configuration in 2 different locations around the casa.

But IMO if and when I need to use one of these things have truly gone to poop and I'm about a few seconds away from picking up the E tool or other weapons of opertunitty and clubbing people to death!

With that said i don't see the need for a flash light and other tactical stuff. IMO all that stuff does in a true civilian life or death situation is create an opertunitty for something to get hung up when i run out of rounds and turn the thing around and begin swinging it like a sledgehammer!

I do like the idea of a laser as I have no intentions on turning on the lights and or turning on a flashlight, spot lighting myself, if and when a threat comes into my AO!

This is as much stuff as I want on mine. I will add a sling shortly, but that is all.

Remington 870 Police. Nothing fancy....just a set of LPA ghost ring sights and a side saddle, but it gets the job done.

Those krauts didn't seem to have any issue with using mustard gas though...

Thanks from stihl73
