1897's in good condition are rare and have become both collectible and desired by the cowboy action shooters. I have 5 of them.

The Black Diamond is a higher grade shotgun as someone already stated.

I see you are from MS. I spent about 2 days a week in north MS. I will be glad to troubleshoot the 97 that is jammed.

I doubt seriously if it has a major problem.

I have shot them a lot. The are really neat guns to shoot.

I limit mine to target loads due to the recoil.

kgcoker. Sure, but I live in Jackson, MS. the next time I start to head up towards Memphis I will shoot you a PM. I dont know when it will be though. Appreciate the help. I think my grandfathers black diamond might be a Tournament or a Trap havent looked at the bolt. Like I said these guns are still at my fathers house in my grandpa's gun safe. (alot safer right now as I dont own a house or a safe.)

Yeah I've been thru Coffeeville a time or two. I'll let you know next time I head up that direction.
