| Polish Wifama WZ.78 range report
This is a range report on my second Polish WZ.78, both of which were purchased from Aim Surplus. The first one was a "select" model, that is in mint condition. It is very accurate with the iron sights, but I wanted one to scope, and not worry about getting dinged up in the field (only bad part about getting a really nice collectible rifle).
This one popped up on the Aim site a little later, and was advertised as "Shooter Grade", for $139. I have purchased from AIM many times, and have always been very satisfied with their service. These were advertised as having cosmetic issues, with possible dings, scratches etc. Well other than some normal wear on the stock, I'd have to call this one of the best deals in recent memory. I removed the AK sights and mounts, and installed 13mm Leupold rings and a Bushnell 3x9 scope I had lying around.
These rifles are very over-built, with thick receiver walls and heavy barrels. I would guess these would run well over $500 if built today. Anyways, I used a mix of bulk .22 ammo (Winchester & Federal) at 50 yards and here are the results... Looks like I'm going to have to splurge and get some Lapua now.
