New ( To Me ) Brno ZKM 611

I've owned a Brno ZKM 611 .22 Mag. semiauto rifle since I bought one new in 1993. They have increased in value greatly recently ,so I was surprised to find one on Gunbroker that had a six round and a ten round magazine at a reasonable price. The magazines themselves sell for about $100.00 and they are very rare. I had the foresight to buy a few extra magazines when they were still being imported.
The quality of these rifles is best appreciated when they are disassembled- every thing is made from milled forgings. The barrels are threaded to the steel receivers. They take down easily with one captive screw and they can be cleaned from the breech when the massive steel bolt is removed. The scoped rifle is my original ZKM 611. The "new" one has its share of handling marks but shows very little usage otherwise. I expect the newer one to be just as accurate as my first, but I'll need to scope it to determine that.

Very nice. The Hk300 suffers from the same golden magazine problem too....

I have a ZKM611 and love it. Gets dirty fast, though. 50rds +/-.

I bought a few spare mags with the rifle, too.

Re: ZKM 611's

Thanks for your replies/ comments. They are nice little rifles to shoot even if .22 Mag. ammo costs a lot more than it did a few years ago. I wish that they had made these in .22 L.R. also, but they never did.
The "American Rifleman" did a review on the ZKM 611 when it was first imported and gave it high marks for accuracy and build quality.

The BRNO 611 ZKM is the best 22 mag rifle made in the world. Had one let it go for something I had to have, and now can't buy one for any reasonable price. Mine was three hundred dollars in 2002. The machining and wood to metal fit was excellent. they make the 10/22 mag look like a joke. The break down feature is a added plus that you could not find in an American rifle like it. I think it was thirty inches broke down. The iinstruction recommended Wichester Super X Mag. and also came with a target shot with the rifle. The only plastic on it was the buttplate. Everything else was steel and wood.
